New scientific names!

Recently taxonomists in their infinite wisdom have changed the the genus names of some frogs and toads. North American representatives of the genus "Rana" are now "Lithobates" and genus "Bufo" are now "Anaxyrus".

Red-eared Slider 
 Trachemys scripta elegans

In Trachemys scripta, the reddish stripe behind the eye is unique among North American turtles, but not all Red-ears have it. Rarely the red is replaced by yellow.
